Computers in the Library

The Santa Fe Public Library provides public access to computers free of charge. Computer users don't need a library card, but signing up with the Reference Desk staff is required. Computers can be reserved for 30-minute or 60-minute slots. Main Library also has a 15-minute computer. Reservations may be phoned in for same-day use or on a walk-in basis, first come first served.

Library computers have internet access, word processing and spreadsheet programs. PCs can accept USB drives, 3.5" floppy discs, and CD-ROMs. Some PCs have CD burning capabilites.The City of Santa Fe prohibits the installation of software or hardware on its computers.

All Library computers are networked to a printer. Printing is 10 cents (10 ¢) per page, and color printing is not available.

Children's Room computers are for use by children 12 and younger only.

The Library does not have a fax machine or scanner. Library staff can provide limited, short-term technical assistance as needed. However, due to time constraints and technical expertise, it may not be possible to answer all questions.
