Join us for a book discussion of the 2002 novel When the Emperor was Divine by Julie Otsuka. Exploring five different points of view, this novel explores the stories of Japanese American citizens who have been reclassified and sent to a Utah internment camp. A series of short documentaries and oral histories will screen at 11 a.m. before this event. It is requested that attendees read the book prior to the discussion.
This program is offered in support of the November “Confinement in the Land of Enchantment” exhibit at the Southside Branch Library.
