A Journey Through the Roots of American Popular Music by Jon Waterman is a unique performance experience combining music history, storytelling, and original songs inspired by his research. Waterman successfully transforms fascinating tales from history into an evening-length performance that feels personal, contemporary, and politically relevant. A must see for anyone interested in American history or American music!

Singer and songwriter Jon Waterman engages audiences with a progressive approach to music that blends of acoustic rock, blues, Americana, and even world music, with the storytelling sensibility of folk music. His songs and performances range from sentiments about love and need to statements about social justice and the human experience while chronicling historical events, fanciful legends, and the passages of everyday life. Jon is a lifetime musician and performs regularly at venues, outdoor markets, special events, and private shows throughout Eastern Massachusetts and beyond.
