2020 GENERAL ELECTION
ABSENTEE AND EARLY VOTING SCHEDULES

Voter Registration closes on Tuesday, October 6th at 5:00 p.m.

In Person Same Day Voter Registration at the County Clerk’s Office
begins October 7, 2020 and Ends Saturday, October 31, 2020 (Photo ID Required)
Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 31st only 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Absentee-In Person Voting

County Clerk’s office (New Building 100 Catron Street) from Tuesday, October 6th through Saturday, October 31st, during regular days and hours of business (Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) The office is closed Monday, October 12, 2020 in observance of Columbus Day.
The County Clerk’s office will be open for Voting on Saturday, October 31st only, but not the other Saturdays of early voting.

Alternate Sites Early Voting

Saturday, October 17th through Saturday, October 31st. Hours of voting are from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays.

Absentee Voting by Mail

You can apply for an absentee ballot now or any time up until Tuesday, October 20, 2020 although we encourage voters not to wait until the last minute.

To apply for an Absentee Ballot, you can go online to electronically request an Absentee Ballot Application Request

You can print out the application and mail or deliver it to the County Clerk’s office.
Or call the County Clerk’s Office (505-986-6280) to request an application. When you receive the application, you must fill it out and return it to our office.
State law does not permit us to mail ballots within the USA until October 6th.

 

Election Day is November 3rd, 2020 and you can vote at any of these Voter Convenience Centers from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

If you did not receive your absentee ballot via U.S. Postal Service, you may go to any of the Election Day VCC sites above. Tell the poll workers that you have not received your absentee ballot and that you would like to vote in-person now. Sign an affidavit stating that you didn’t cast your ballot, my staff will back out this absentee ballot. The poll workers will issue you a Ballot on Demand (BOD) to cast on a voting machine right then and there. You should wear a face mask and gloves; and there is sanitizer available.

If you received your absentee ballot via U.S. Postal Service, you may walk-in your cast absentee ballot to the County Clerk’s Office from Tuesday, October 6th through Saturday, October 31st, during regular days and hours of business (Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) The office is closed Monday, October 12, 2020 in observance of Columbus Day.
The County Clerk’s office will be open for Voting on Saturday, October 31st only, but not the other Saturdays of early voting.

We have a drop off box outside the main entrance to the County’s Administration Complex (100 Catron St, Santa Fe, NM 87501); or you may hand deliver your absentee ballot to
any of the VCC sites above on Election Day November 3, 2020 by 7:00 PM.
