Borrowing privileges will be suspended with any item more than 28 days overdue. Don’t forget, you can review your checkouts, due dates and holds by logging on to your library account.

Overdue Policy

The library does not charge fines for overdue items. Patrons will be blocked from checking out other items if any item becomes 28 days overdue.

A bill is mailed to patrons via United States mail for any item that is 90 days or more overdue. The bill will include an estimated replacement cost.

The Library works to serve our users. When materials are long overdue, the items are not available for other patrons to check out. The Library does not have a large enough budget to be able to purchase extra copies of items that are long overdue. We appreciate your working with us to get books and other materials back in a timely manner.

Renewals

We now have two automatic renewals set up for all renewable items, so you do not need to renew but can still renew early online by logging into your library account. Items may be renewed up to two times. Items with holds (other patrons waiting) cannot be renewed.

Returns

Library materials may be returned to any Santa Fe Public Library location. There are book drops at each library for returns after-hours. We do not accept returns for other libraries.

Lost or Damaged Items

Please see a staff member at any Circulation Desk.
