Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program 2021 Starts June 1st!

Posted on

Toddlers and children up to 17 years of age are eligible to participate in the reading program. Children may read independently or be read to by adults and older children. Reading library books, personal books, ebooks, and listening to audiobooks all count toward earning prizes. Please write down the title of each book and keep track of the number minutes read for each book in your reading log. Give Beanstack a try this year to earn digital badges and keep track of your reading!

Tails and Tales is sponsored by the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library and the New Mexico State Library.

Choose one of these options to register:

1. Go to

2. Download the Beanstack app from your app store

3. Request a paper log from any one of our libraries

Be sure to visit your library branch to pick up a free book bag!

We will be having  socially-distanced, outdoor story times and craft programs for children and their families at the Main Library and the Southside Branch Library. Please wear your masks and meet us under the portal every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:30 a.m. during the months of June and July for these Tails and Tales Summer Reading 2021 programs!

There will also be a special performer each Friday at 1:00 p.m. (Except July 2nd) on either Zoom or YouTube and hopefully a safe and social-distanced in-person magic performance from Tall Paul to wrap up the summer on July 30. Go to our Summer Reading page for more details and check the calendar below for the schedule:
