Congrations to Ian, Emily and Aaliyah! They joined the Summer Reading Program; read a lot of books and won a bike! Stephen Newhall who represents bike donors Rob and Charlie’s Bike Shop and the Santa Fe Century Bike Club presented the bikes. Also on hand to help mark the occasion was Mayor Javier Gonzalez and La Farge Library branch manager, Kathryn Spangle.

The Food Depot to Provide Free Children’s Books for the Lunchbox Express Program

The Santa Fe Public Library and the Friends of the Santa Fe Public Library are joining with the Food Depot this summer to support its Lunchbox Express program. The Lunch Box Express program runs Monday through Friday until August 14 and delivers sack lunches to children ages 1-18 at three sites throughout the summer. The Santa Fe Public Library has arranged for each child to get a free book, the Friends of the Library will distribute them with the free lunch on August 3 at the following sites:

Get Ready for Kindergarten Program

The Santa Fe Public Library presents the Get Ready for Kindergarten Program. So your child is going to Kindergarten! Join with the children’s librarians at all three Santa Fe Public Library branches on August 12 and 13, to give your child an introduction of what to expect in Kindergarten. The program will include hearing a story, packing a lunch bag, and making an “information” puzzle about their name, age and address.

New Self-Service Kiosks

The Santa Fe Public Library has installed new self-service kiosks at all locations. The new kiosks provide patrons with the freedom to independently process their own library transactions, while also providing staff with more time to assist patrons and work on other tasks. Patrons are able to check out all types of library materials using the kiosks. Just place all of the materials that you wish to check out in the slot and the kiosk will scan and check them out to you. If you have any questions circulation staff are available to assist you.
