The Santa Fe Public Library is proud to host acclaimed author Sarah Prager for a series of events celebrating LGBTQIA+ history and identity. Through engaging programs for both youth and adults, Sarah brings powerful, often overlooked queer stories to life—helping readers of all ages connect with the past and feel empowered in the present.

Pride Storytime: Kind Like Marsha

Sarah Prager presents a special storytime featuring her children’s book, Kind Like Marsha: Learning from LGBTQ+ Leaders. This beautifully illustrated nonfiction picture book introduces young readers to 14 inspiring LGBTQIA+ figures from history, each paired with a positive trait like kindness, courage, or creativity.

Author Talk: Queer History – Amazing Stories You Never Knew and Why They Matter

Sarah Prager shares inspiring, little-known stories from LGBTQIA+ history around the world, exploring how colonialism, book bans, and erasure have shaped our understanding of queer identity. She’ll also speak about her personal journey and the importance of reclaiming these narratives. For teens and adults.

About Sarah Prager
Sarah Prager is the author of four books on LGBTQIA+ history for youth. Her young adult title, Queer, There, and Everywhere: 27 People Who Changed the World, received multiple starred reviews and was named a Best Book for Teens by both the New York Public Library and Chicago Public Library. She has presented to over 250 audiences across eight countries, including two U.S. embassies, and her writing has appeared in The New York Times, The Atlantic, National Geographic, NBC News, The Washington Post, Cosmopolitan, and more.
