Please join us at La Farge Branch Library for Cartoon Caricature Drawing Part III on Saturday, September 3rd from 2:00 – 4:00pm.
In his best-selling book The Mad Art of Caricature, world famous caricaturist Tom Richmond emphasizes that the budding caricaturist must draw hundreds of caricatures before he or she begins to see the subtle details hidden inside the ordinary face. In this third cartoon caricature workshop, participants will get a chance to practice drawing a subject of their choice. Participants should bring 5 to 10 photos of a subject or two they would like to caricature (family member, friend, celebrity, actor, politician, etc.). The photos can be different angles and views (front, three-quarter, etc.) of the same subject. Coloring and shading of drawings using colored pencils or simple pastels will also be covered briefly in the class. Drawing materials will be available for the class, but participants can bring their own favorite markers and sketchbooks too. The workshop is open to anyone age 11 up. Participants are welcome even if they have not attended the previous cartoon caricature workshops!
