Intro to drawing caricatures with Gino Brazil

Join us at La Farge Branch Library on June 22 from 4:00 to 5:30 pm for a new drawing workshop: Introduction to Drawing Caricatures! This beginning level workshop for ages 11 to adult, features simple but fun exercises, techniques and tips designed to spark creativity, humor and perception through quick, mini-caricature and cartoon face sketches. No drawing experience required. The workshop is for anyone who enjoys sketching people or faces for fun, appreciates humor, loves comics, or just wants to learn about the world of caricature drawing. Basic drawing supplies will be available at the workshop, however participants are encouraged to bring their own sketchbook and favorite marker.

Introduction to Drawing Caricatures will be taught by “amante de caricatura” (lover of caricatures and comics) Gino Brazil. Gino, longtime owner of Gino’s Gym in Española, was the Public Information Director at Northern New Mexico Community College from 1996-2007, and also taught in the Española and Pojoaque school systems. He grew up reading comics during the Silver Age of Comics – the 1960’s. His hobbies include teaching exercise classes for older adults, reading, and researching comic history.
