Join Sam Italiano for a fun beginner’s exploration of the U.S. American art form, tap dance!
Samantha Italiano – goes by Sam- was born and raised in Colorado. She grew up dancing various styles, but most grateful to have grown up in a studio that emphasized artistic expression, exploration, and the opportunity to perform in the community. Studying with Danielle Heller & Gene Medler early on, Sam’s passion for tap dance evolved and she explored the artform with the utmost enthusiasm.
Sam has performed as a guest artist with several companies throughout Arkansas, Minnesota, and Texas. She keeps up her training by studying with some of the best; she is fortunate to call Ellen Keane, Brenna Kuhn and the one and only Dianne Walker some of her mentors.
Sam has taught in a variety of settings including: recreation center dance programs, dance studios, public school programs, non-profit programming, after-school programs, and one-time workshops. She loves sharing the beautiful and complex art form of tap dance with those around her and finds ways to make it accessible to the non-foot percussion trained dancers. Fairly new to New Mexico, Sam is looking to build community with those who are interested in learning and engaging with this beautiful artform. Can’t wait to make music with you!
