Dr. Tara López is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Northern New Mexico College in Española, New Mexico. Her research revolves around social movements and youth music culture. Her current project is focused on punk rock in El Paso, and she recently published an article on this topic titled “‘Vamonos pa’l Chuco!:’ Punk Rock, Power, and Memory in El Paso, Texas” in The Journal of Texas Music History. She is expanding upon this research, and the University of Texas Press will be publishing her book Chucotown Soundtrack: El Paso Punk Rock in 2023.
